Kadu Tapuya

Kadu Tapuya is a multimedia contemporary indigenous artist from Brazil. He belongs to the Xukuru and Tapuya peoples from Southern Pernambuco.

Tapuya’s work encompasses photography, graphics and video. He is a prominent artist of the Indigenous Futurism movement in Abya Yalan lands. Indigenous Futurism is - as he puts it - “a future where we as native peoples are alive and we are narrators of our own histories”

His digital collages showcase scenarios where sci-fi takes over urban favelas with signs of an ultra hi-tech post-coloniality.
